Renowned for his time with One Direction, Liam Payne died at 31 after a fall from a hotel.
Allegations have surfaced that he “smashed his laptop” in a hotel lobby before needing to be escorted back to his room. In a 911 call aired by a local Argentine television station, the hotel owner can be heard urgently requesting assistance, stating, “We have a guest who is on drugs and is destroying the whole room.”
Tragically, police later confirmed Payne’s death, revealing that the 30-year-old composer and guitarist fell from the third floor of the hotel. The hotel manager reported hearing a loud noise from the back of the building. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Payne’s body in the hotel’s interior patio, indicating he had apparently fallen from his balcony.
Payne had been open about his struggles with addiction. In June 2021, he disclosed his battles with alcohol and prescription drug abuse during One Direction’s touring years, sharing that he had experienced severe suicidal thoughts. Just last July, he announced he was six months sober after spending around 100 days in rehab, stating in a YouTube update, “I was in bad shape up until that point.” This tragic incident marks a heartbreaking moment for fans and the music community alike.
